What is the IFL?
India's first professional team-based mixed martial arts league
The Vision
The Indian Fighting League (IFL) was created to elevate Indian MMA to the global stage. Our mission is to build a sustainable, professional ecosystem for combat sports athletes in India, providing them with the platform, training, and exposure they deserve.
League Format
IFL operates as a team-based league with 6 city franchises. Each team fields 12 fighters across 8 weight classes. Teams compete in head-to-head matchups, with individual fight results contributing to team standings. This unique format creates layers of competition — personal glory and team pride.
Season Structure
Each season runs for approximately 7 months with 9 events. Teams face each other in a round-robin format during the regular season, followed by semi-finals and a grand finale. Points are awarded for each fight won: 3 points for a finish, 2 for a decision, and 1 for a draw.
For Fighters
IFL provides its athletes with professional contracts, medical insurance, training support, and media exposure. We believe in developing talent from the grassroots level and giving Indian fighters a path to compete on the world stage.
Broadcast & Reach
All IFL events are broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass, reaching over 200 countries globally. This partnership brings unprecedented international visibility to Indian MMA, opening doors for fighters and fans alike.
The Championship
At the end of each season, the top 2 teams in the standings face off in the Grand Finale. The winning team is crowned IFL Champions, and individual fighters compete for divisional belt honors. The inaugural Season 1 championship will be held in Mumbai.
